Warranty

IPS Adhesives warrants our adhesive products to meet or exceed the published specifications for bond strength, cure and shelf life, subject to the conditions set out below. Quality Assurance certificates are produced with each batch. All products are tested for cure profile, color, viscosity, bond strength, and shelf life. Retain samples are stored from each batch for quality reference.

IPS Adhesives is not responsible for failure caused by improper use, storage, or off ratio mixing caused by failure of the dispensing system. To ensure proper results, follow recommended procedures below and any other special procedures outlined for each product. Refer to tips and techniques document for proper application techniques.

Application

Bond strength is measured on clean, properly prepared substrates with a bond line thickness of .003 to .007 inches. Over clamping can squeeze out most of the adhesive and reduce the bond line below a thickness that will allow the adhesive to achieve a proper cure and full bond strength. Some substrates may contain materials or additives that prevent the adhesive from producing strong bonds. To ensure performance, a sample of any new materials should be sent to the test facility at IPS Adhesives for evaluation.

Storage and Handling

Methacrylate adhesives and activators are flammable and can be dangerous if used improperly. Avoid skin and eye contact. In case of eye contact flush with water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. Keep away from sources of ignition. Before use or handling consult the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information. Store the adhesive in a cool area away from direct sunlight. High temperatures will reduce the shelf life of the adhesive and activator. Refrigeration is an acceptable means to increase storage life. However, freezing should be prevented. Shelf life tests are based on constant temperature storage between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dispensing

IPS Adhesives are supplied in kit form at the appropriate mix ratio. Always maintain this ratio when mixing. Excess activator will cause discoloration and higher than normal exotherm temperatures. Avoid mixing large quantities or creating thick cross sections (over 1/8 inch) as high temperatures may cause damage, skin burns, and create the release of volatile vapors.

Working Time

The working time for the adhesive is indicated in the technical data sheet. The time provided is as an estimate of the time between mixing and set up of the adhesive. The working time is affected by the mixing ratio, air temperature, adhesive temperature, or the substrate temperature as well as the shelf life condition of the adhesive. For best results, use the adhesive at temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. High temperatures increase the cure rate while lower temperatures slow the cure rate. Use at temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit may cause an incomplete cure.

Color Match

IPS Adhesives produces color cross-reference charts for many standard industry colors. These charts are to be used as a reference only. Final color verification is the responsibility of the end user.

Disclaimer

The information provided is based on laboratory testing under controlled conditions. It is the responsibility of the end user to test the adhesive on the intended substrates under the conditions which they will be used and to determine the suitability of the adhesive for the intended purpose.

Remedy

IPS Adhesives will, at its discretion, replace or refund the purchase price and transportation cost for any material found to be defective within the warranty or shelf-life period listed for the individual product or products.
